I understand that that is bad. It causes slips.I googled it and some human being actually recommend readers to remedy squeeky serpentine belts. My concern is I recognize it is negative but is it really bad? deserve to it destroy an engine? The factor I ask due to the fact that my nephew recently acquired his first car. He stated that the belt squeeled, he injected wd40 on it and he stated that he started driving and also less than 2 miles his car was exhilaration up and he pulled into a video store and the belt had actually come off. He said he placed it back on but it slipped off again.I looked at it, and it appeared that the nut on the huge wheel whereby the serpentine belts spins would certainly loosen after gift torqued, and also if you kept torquing it would certainly loosen. Therefore it was a no victory situation. Go he cause this by spraying the wd40 or unrelated?

I doubt that does any type of serious damage, yet wd 40 more than likely isn"t the best. "Belt dressing" may be "better", however the best fix is repair the offending component. Belt tensioner, ac compressor, alternator, PS pump, all have bearings that can be bad and also causing the squeal as result of the misalignment lock create. Seed on a wheel loosening? you re welcome tell me you"re not talking around the seed on the flywheel/crank joint.

most most likely talking about a hand-operated belt tensioner. Could be loosening the belt as well which would obviously cause belt come slip.
